When you make a financial gift of support to Nantahala Health Foundation, you are actually supporting better health and wellness for all in our region. Our commitment to our donors is this: Your gift will immediately be put to work where it is needed most.
Grantmaking: Our total regional investment in health and well-being initiatives so far exceeds $2.4 million. But there’s much more work to be done. Your gift makes it possible for us to invest even more in the best ideas and programs our region has to offer.
Capacity-building: To date, we have joined forces with 80+ nonprofit, governmental, faith-based, and foundation leaders and their teams to learn more about their work and carefully consider ways we can collaborate and begin to realize a healthy future for our region.
Coming Soon: Better health and wellness for all begins with strong leaders standing at the helms of our region’s diverse service organizations. WNC deserves exceptional leaders adept at addressing today’s critical health-related issues and eliminating their root causes. Further, we must ensure the future of these organizations is also in skilled hands. That’s why we are developing a plan to intentionally invest in both today’s leaders and those they will nurture to take their place.
Giving to us directly connects you to your community. Through COVID we all realized the value of connecting with our community. When you give to Nantahala Health Foundation, not only are supporting hundreds of nonprofits, you are connecting to your humanity.
Giving makes you feel good! It’s been shown that people who support nonprofits have lower levels of depression and use fewer medicines. The power of giving has also been shown to reduce stress and enhance physical health, mental health, and longer life expectancies.
When you give, you strengthen your personal values and your belief system. Having the power to improve the lives of others is a privilege, one that comes with its own sense of obligation. Acting on these powerful feelings of responsibility is a meaningful way to reinforce your personal values and to know that you are living in a way that is true to your ethical beliefs.
Giving serves as an example to others that individuals possess the power to change the world for good. When you give to a charitable organization, your children are watching and learning from you about the power lesson of giving. You may also encourage other family members and friends to combine their giving with yours to bring about even bigger change. Without a doubt, your gift has the power to inspire others and create a dramatic impact.
We are working with others to build this region’s capacity. For far too long, Western North Carolina organizations have been denied for a mariad of reasons the funding they require to grow their efforts. By supporting our work to help these organizations with grants, build capacity, and strengthening their current and future leaders, you are building a network with the potential to attract larger financial investments geared toward better health and wellness for all of us.
