Humans are social by nature. Our relationships with family, friends, co-workers, and community members are important to our survival. People with healthy relationships and opportunities to feel included are more likely to make healthy choices that lead to better mental and physical health.

Those facing barriers to social and community support often ask themselves:

  • I need some new friends. Are there any activities or clubs nearby where I can meet like-minded folks?
  • Without family close, who can I count on in case of emergencies?
  • I’m in a dead-end job. Who do I know who would be willing to help me find another one?
